Block Printing Workshop

Spend a Saturday printmaking with Roycroft Renaissance Master Printmaker Laura Wilder. Use your own design, or choose from several designs provided by the teacher.* You will carve linoleum blocks, mix inks, create color gradients, and print your design with a wooden spoon and/or a press. With block printing, perfection is elusive (and Laura has stories to prove it), yet your prints will look wonderful. In the end you’ll have several colorful hand-printed note cards, a kit full of supplies, and the know-how for making more prints at home. 

We will have a 1 hour break for lunch. Students can conveniently purchase food from downstairs at The Company Store.

Suitable for beginners, professional artists, and anyone in between. Class is limited to 15.

*Students will receive detailed preparation instructions in advance via email, including sample designs to choose from, and guidelines for creating their own workable design.
