About the Artist:

"If there’s one thing I’d want you to know about me, it’s this: I didn’t choose painting. It chose me. I feel that I have an internal push inside of me; a light that wants to be expressed -- and the only way to let it speak is through painting. I began painting seriously in high school, when I was blessed to be in one of the best art programs in the country thanks to the talent, insight, and inspiration of my high school art teacher for particularly seeing the light in me. I continued my education at RIT getting a BFA in Communication Design. I made my home and developed my creative career in the Finger Lakes of NYS while raising two children with my husband, John.

I’ve continued to see the light in the nature, people, and places surrounding me each day since, finding my style largely influenced by French and Spanish impressionists who masterfully captured both light and color. With such influences, my ever-evolving style has grown into a looser approach that allows the viewer to create their own story and feel their own emotional connection. I have been blessed to have mentors that have given me guidance and care throughout my career, especially Pat Rini Rohrer and Lori Putnam.

Travel has also become a big part of my art and life. I find the light and color are so different in each place and I learn so much by learning from the landscape. My recent travels reflected by my art are to Staithes - England, Limoux - France, and Wexford - Ireland always coming home to a renewed love for the Finger Lakes.

What comes out on the canvas is begging to be told, to be expressed, to be given life. I hope you find your story in the one that speaks to you."
